Cafe De Casalingo is a bit in the middle of nowhere. If you are on the way to KL via the Simpang Pulai toll, the Cafe might be a good pit stop as it’s on the way. Precisely that too, the cafe offers some of the most affordable dishes in town, with set lunches in the range of RM 14.90 – RM 16.90, inclusive of starter, main course and a drink. In fact, nothing is over RM 20 here.
Pork chop is one of the easiest thing to make and it would easily please anyone as it is comfort food. Surprisingly it’s not present in most of the cafes in Ipoh. Now I’ve found it at De Casalingo, I know where to go when I have craving for pork chop ! The three slices of pork chops are pan-fried, drizzled with an onion-based red wine sauce and accompanied by buttery mashed potatoes, a small salad and fruits (RM 14.90).
The hot chocolate is so-so though (RM 5.90).
Other items on De Casalingo’s menu include beer, snacks, spaghetti, panini, mini burgers and a good range of charcoal burgers with fish, chicken, bacon or pork chop to choose from. Items like grilled chicken, lamb chop are available in both East and West style – either with mashed potatoes or with rice.
