Browns Cafe has been operating for the past few years in the clubbing strip of Ipoh Garden East, also observing night opening hours from 6 pm – 1 am. It has recently gone through a facelift, jiving with the glittering clubbing scene, while also maintaining a whimsical charm.
Beneath the mirror lies a row of stones. Not any stones, but stones you can write well wishes on, or basically anything you feel like writing in that particular moment.
This one is totally abstract that says “elephant leg with hippo head” !
Charming murals all over the cafe.
You can have some fun with board games too if you wish.
Since the mini burgers on the menu is chef’s recommendation, I gave it a go. While the chicken patty used isn’t the gourmet kind, the details put into assembling the burger deserves some kudos for a fulfilling dish at only RM 10.50. Each of the little buns are buttered, grilled, and each burger has shreds of carrots, cabbages and lettuce, topped with mayonnaise and barbecue sauce. A generous bunch of lanky French fries gives you enough carbohydrates to go clubbing until 3 am.
Orange juice for RM 8.50.
Browns Cafe’s ,menu is rather old-school with some “char chaan teng” kind of food. Chicken chop, lamb chop all have 4 kinds of sauces or more to choose from, while Nissin noodles, ramen, sandwiches, spaghetti, coffee, beer and mocktails are not lacking. The flower pot dessert looks good but I didn’t get a chance to try.
Enjoy a few more photos below 🙂
