Elizabeth Square (Erzsébet tér) is right in the heart of Budapest city that’s a hip hang out place for both locals and visitors. It is especially vibrant at night where people just enjoy the night by the glowing Ferris wheel or sit by the pools with a beer in their hand.
The pools are shallow and dipping in them is not allowed. I was surprised at how strict it was followed as I was sort of expecting some people are going to get playful and push each other in.
If you just love to chill with a good beer, Elizabeth Square would be just the place for you 🙂
Getting there : Get to Deák Ferenc tér Station. All the metro lines go there (Line 1, Line 2 and Line 3). Several buses go there as well as it is a central transfer hub.
I haven’t been on a Ferris wheel in years and would love to ride on one again. At night no less! Thank you KJ 🙂
I haven’t been on one in years too as I am scared of height!
I love the nostalgia of ferris wheels but I dread being on one because of a crippling fear of heights. This one in Budapest is one big wheel and it is a pretty sight…from the ground.
It’s the prettiest at night. I don’t go on ferris wheels anymore because I am scared of height too – especially the ones that take a long time to complete one cycle and stop at the peak for 10 minutes!
