With K-pop music in the background, pastel-colored walls and dainty embellishments, Coffee At 91 exudes a dreamy, Korean ambiance. Serving mostly desserts and coffee, Coffee At 91 is located in the same complex as Tambun Inn Hotel.
Cakes and desserts at Coffee At 91 are smaller relatively compared to other cafes, but the price is about half the price too (ranging from RM 4 to RM 8). Being a dessert a cafe, that’s a good thing, because girls being girls, we will always have an extra stomach for all things sweet, and with the cakes being smaller, we can try more flavors without over stuffing ourselves. The cake selection varies according to season.
The cafe serves two very light meals- mushroom soup and Korean Maggie Mee (Shin Ramen with kimchi).
The mushroom soup (RM 6) was made from real mushrooms so it had a moderate viscosity with grainy bits of mushroom.
My mocha came with a cute (Hello Kitty?) coffee art.
And it was the first time that I was able to fit 2 desserts in a cafe – tiramisu in shot glass (RM 5) and macarons (RM 5 for 2 pieces). The tiramisu had a strong dose of coffee and it was a spoonful of wonder with mascarpone cheese and cocoa powder.
The macarons were delicate and even lightly dented when you pick them up. The filling though could have been better as the chocolate filling in the yellow macaron had hardened slightly and the berry filling in the pink macaron had an extra taste which was not quite berry.
