Hangzhou full of captivating history, was once the capital city of China during the Southern Song Dynasty more than one thousand years ago. My trip is probably too packed – I get too excited knowing there is so much to see Hangzhou ! Do see which attractions are to your liking and go at your own pace 🙂
Day 1 – Arrival in Hangzhou.
Check in Renhe Hotel that’s conveniently located 5 minutes walk to the West lake with many restaurants around.
Lunch at Kui Yuan Guan for their famous noodles.
Explore the Southern Song Imperial Street and Hefang Street to discover traditional arts and crafts in an old street that depicts old Hangzhou.
Dinner at Huang Fan Er on Hefang Street where one of the dishes was the Emperor’s favorite dish.
Day 2 & 3 – we mostly spent time around the West Lake as the lake is famous for the beautiful sceneries, collectively known as 10 Scenes of West Lake. Visit King Qian’s Memorial.
Visit Leifeng Pagoda.
Lunch at Hua Zhong Cheng that’s just at the foot of Leifeng Pagoda.
Visit Jingci Temple.
Enjoy Fish Viewing at Flower Port.
Visit Lotus in the Breeze in Winding Courtyard.
Dinner at Lu Family Restaurant for traditional Hangzhou Cuisine.
Dessert at Honeymoon Dessert.
Visit the Chenghuang (City God) Pavilion.
Take a boat ride to the islet in the middle of West Lake where ” Three Pools Mirror(ing) the Moon“. Lunch on the islet.
Explore the Longjing Tea Village and Nine Creeks in Misty Trees – both attractions are connected to each other through a pleasant 1 hour walk through the forest.
Dinner at Ajisen Ramen.
Do check out the West Lake at night for the music fountain (near Hyatt) or the splendor of Beishan Road viewed from Bai Causeway.
Visit Hupao Spring (or Running Tiger Spring). Bring some water bottles along if you wish to try the spring water there!
Visit Fei Lai Feng Grottos and Lingyin Temple that are adjacent to each other.
Lunch at Zhi Wei Guan nearby Lingyin Temple.
Visit Yellow Dragon Cave.
Visit Yue Fei Temple.
Dinner at Wai Po Jia (The Grandma’s House) – either be there early to take a number or be prepared to cue! Avoid going on weekends.
