Strawberry farm is an absolute must if you visit Cameron Highlands. The Big Red Strawberry Farm is one of the larger and systematic ones among many. The humongous piece of strawberry statue at the entrance is a favorite photo spot.
Strawberries are irresistible fruits, slightly sourish and bursting with sweetness. They are one of the best ingredients in a dessert – in cakes, in ice creams, in pancakes, in waffles or simply just eaten alone.
Seeing these rows and rows of endless strawberries just makes it more alluring, and exciting too when you can pluck your own (RM25/kg).
The space under the strawberries is designated for good use too – parsley plantation. Parsley, a common herb used for garnishing – I would have never used this word to describe parsley, but they look so delightful!
The strawberry farm also does hydroponic farming in large scale with arrays of butterhead lettuce, red and green coral vegetables.
On a smaller scale, there’s also a flower nursery,
a cactus nursery,
and a tomato farm where you can pluck your own (RM5/kg).
A nice little cafe is available for a bit of chillaxing with some fresh strawberries.
The seating area has lots of posters of their cafe items and I am interested in the butterhead juice. I really can’t imagine butterhead lettuce all juiced up. We had a big breakfast at Cameron Highland Resort so there was no room for anymore liquid. Gotta try it next time.
And of course, a souvenir shop for you to buy anything strawberry!
