We visited Pont du Gard on our way from Orange to Arles. Pont du Gard literally means “the bridge over Gard River”, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Romans constructed this three-tier bridge standing at 50 m tall for the transportation of water . We reached there about 7 pm just before sunset and this ancient Roman aqueduct was glowing in golden rays and the magnificent structure really is a masterpiece well-preserved after 2000 years of construction.
As we arrived late, the museum was already closed so unfortunately we missed that. Admission is 18 Euros per car, which includes parking, visit to the museum and the bridge.
