Palm Hill Cafe – Breakfast at Shangri-La Putrajaya Malaysia

For 5 star hotels, the breakfast is always good with lots of choices.  At the first instance,  the spread at Palm Hill Cafe Shangri-La seems standard with the:

Cereal Section,

Porridge section,

Pastry section with donuts and all

Local section with fried rice, fried noodles, spring rolls, etc,

Salad section,

Egg station,

Noodle station,

Breakfast muffin and french toast,

And nasi lemak section.

As I start to go for second and third helpings, I do notice the details are taken care of with extra effort.  For example, french toast is just not french toast with honey or chocolate sauce on the side, but with chunky strawberry jam that is to die-for on the side!

Nasi lemak is not just standard nasi lemak with chicken, but with the addition of fried oysters, and ridged cucumbers rather than plain-cut cucumbers.  (Gary reckons that ridged and cut cucumbers taste the same – they are all cucumbers.  But somehow, I find ridged cucumbers more fun in my mouth……)

And, my favourite is the fresh juice bar!  Not all 5 star hotel breakfast spread will have this.  Some actually have taken out from their spread.

The cafe is set in warm hues with an abundance of natural light from the ceiling-to-floor windows.  The sign board, decorated with brightly colored (artificial) fruits just makes me happy.

Bird’s eye view of the cafe.

I enjoyed my breakfast at Palm Hill Cafe  😀
