Langkawi is a favorite destination for everyone. Who doesn’t love a gorgeous island with lush greeneries and pristine waters ? Check out this list of Top 6 “Must-Do” Things if you are visiting Langkawi and make sure you don’t miss any of them !
1. Take the Panorama Langkawi Skycab
I’ve taken lots of skycabs during my many years of travelling. The Panorama Skycab is without doubt one of the most stunning ones, where you get to see the forest and the sea aligned side by side, and also a myriad of islands that disappear into the horizon.
The base station of the skycab is located at the Oriental Village, which is located at Pantai Kok, at the foot of Machinchang Mountain.

Ticket Information : For Malaysians RM 22 for kids, RM 30 for adults. For international visitors RM 30 for kids, RM 45 for adults, or see the complete ticket information here.
2. Walk the World’s Longest Curve Suspension Bridge – the Skybridge
Can you imagine how awestruck I was when I saw the bridge? The bridge is located in one of the most unlikeliest places – at a height of 100 meters above the ground, suspended across the forest canopy. It was an adventurous treetop walk made easy by the suspension bridge. I am afraid of heights, but the surreal landscape, the rolling hills and the crisp air were enough to put my fear away.
The Skybridge is accessible via the Langkawi Panorama Skycab; it is located at the top station.
3. Get Your Dose of Vitamin Sea
Getting a dose of vitamin sea is inevitable at Langkawi. There’s no escape from it since you are stranded on an island.
Take your pick of activities by the sea – is it banana boating that you fancy ? Or is it jet skiing that you are more inclined to ? My best bet would be to just bum around and do nothing 😛
4. Visit the Kilim Karst Geoforest Park
See the splendid limestone landscape of Langkawi at the Kilim Karst Geopark, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. If you’ve driven along the north-south highway from KL to Penang, the landscape is somewhat similar except that now the limestone mountains all seem to be floating on water instead.
Visiting the geopark is typically packaged with other activities such as bat cave, mangrove forest, fish farm, eagle sighting and crocodile cave; or you may see my detailed post entry which I wrote about earlier – Langkawi – Kilim Karst Geopark Day 4.

5. See Penguins and Fur Seals at the Underwater World
Besides the usual marine life that you would see at an aquarium, the Underwater World in Langkawi also has three kinds of fascinating creatures – Rockhopper penguins, African penguins and fur seals. Now that’s some cuteness overload right there. If you wish to have a closer interaction with them, check out the feeding schedule here.

Entrance Fee : RM 43 (adults without MyKad) / RM 33 (adults with MyKad), RM 33 (children without MyKad) / RM 23 (children with MyKad), or see complete ticketing information here.
6. Duty Free Shopping
Popular dining ware such as Corningware, Luminarc and Visionware are considerably much affordable if you buy it in Langkawi because of its duty-free status. Many shops in Kuah Town sell these dining ware at more or less the same price. If dining ware is not your forte, booze is another thing that’s very much enjoyed in Langkawi at a much cheaper price.
Traveloka’s Leap Year Promotion – Because it’s as rare as a leap year !
Now that you’ve seen all these “Must-Do” Things in Langkawi, make your flight booking right away by using Traveloka and get a 10% off all airlines at Traveloka (booking period from 26th Feb to 1 March 2016). Don’t miss out this flight deal because you can set your travel date to ANYTIME. As compared to other budget airlines that often offer limited traveling period, there is no limit here. So book right this minute, use the coupon code LEAP60 to get the deal. Traveloka is the largest flight/hotel booking platform and fare comparison website in Indonesia; the Traveloka App is also available for download.
If you are using the app to make the booking, the convenient app allows you to compare hotel and/or flight prices at a glance, without having to go back and forth between different websites. Furthermore, the prices shown are FINAL PRICES, inclusive of taxes and surcharges – this is an excellent feature because it just makes things so much easier. Sometimes Airline A may seem to have a better deal than Airline B, but in the end, it turns out that Airline B is the one that has a better deal after taxes and surcharges have been taken into consideration. Traveloka takes all the confusion away and you would know which airline to book with right away.
Take travelling from KL to Langkawi for example, simply key in your origin, destination, departure date, return date, number of passengers, then click search.
All the flights that fly KL to Langkawi would all appear on one page, prices shown as per pax. The search results yielded a total of 26 flights from Malaysian Airlines and Air Asia, showing the final prices inclusive of taxes and surcharges.
The app also has a useful feature that allows you to sort the list by lowest price, departure time, arrival time and duration so you can have a side by side comparison. You can also filter the selection to suit your convenience, filtering a certain time for departure and arrival.
Once you have selected your desired departure date and arrival date, head over to review your booking (do note this is also the stage that you have to choose your baggage allowance if you are flying with Air Asia), and once you’ve made the payment, you are on your way to paradise ! Enjoy your holiday 😀
