Nestled in the residential area of Damansara Heights on Jalan Kasah, The Point Restaurant and Bar serves impeccable food in a modern setting.  The Point has an excellent selection of tapas, entrees and mains.

The Petuna Ocean Trout (RM 42) is truly fantastic.  The creaminess from both the trout and the the 62 ⁰c egg yolk;  the glorious scent of truffle oil; the crackling wasabi soy toast and the crisp salad on the side form a world of textures.

You can add on a small salad to this entree and make it a main course. Usually add-ons tend to be simple; but not this one.  The refreshing mixed salad consists of pear, daikon and a burst of zing from wasabi peas (RM 16).

It’s easy to become indecisive looking at tapas menu because I do want a bit of everything.  The Point has the perfect solution for that with the Tapas Platter (RM 78) which has 5 different kinds of tapas in smaller portions placed in a golden cage, and a plate of chicken karrage served in cucumber slicers + tamarind dressing on the side.

The top tier has the soft shell crab rolls with sriracha and lobster rolls with truffle oil;

the second tier has the crispy pork hock in nahm prick dressing and pickled ginger;

and the third tier has citrus-cured salmon on wontan crisp and raw Irish oysters.

The raw Irish oysters were so good so we ordered another 6 pieces (RM 5 / pcs).

We only had one main course because we got carried away with the tapas – the Australian Miso Marinated Lamb Rack (RM 55) served with smoked egg plant puree, capsicum piperade, okonomiyaki pancake and plum sauce.  I don’t know if it’s the miso doing it’s magic, or the Australian lamb just has inherent good genes; but that piece of lamb rack is ice-cream-kind-of-melt-in-your-mouth-good and that’s one indelible piece that will remain forever ingrained in my mind.

Sticky Date Pudding with ice cream (RM 15) – a decent hot-cold dessert to end the night 🙂

The Point Restaurant & Bar occupies two floors – the restaurant on the first floor,

    I reviewed this place too and this has to be one of my fave restaurants ever. Every dish is superbly executed. Flavours are fresh and exciting and show a commitment to a fusion of east and west. Great presentation of dishes and cosy surrounds. Love it!

      I agree too ! Some of the dishes just have little accents here and there but it completely changes the dish into something else 🙂
