Food & Desire serves some out-of-the-norm creations on top of the typical cafe menu we see in Ipoh, such as porky fries, cereal killer, chocolate fondue and Penang white laksa to name a few. It’s all porkilicious too with a good amount of items dedicated to pork, pork and pork, good for those that are looking for a little oink oink.
The mushroom soup of the day (RM 14.90) is hearty and full-textured with finely chopped mushrooms.
The magic carpet is Middle-Eastern inspired where black mushrooms, three colors of capsicums, onions and chicken thigh served on paratha comprise a myriad of colors. The Middle Eastern spices are subtle but it is the firey flavor of the food as if taken right from direct fire that is absolutely enticing. The movie Aladdin came to mind while eating this dish.
The Grilicious Ori Pork Burger (RM 19.90) is superb with a lightly charred pork patty on the outside, while the inside remains moist and pink. This burger is customizable with add-ons such as pineapple, hashbrown, egg and streaky bacon (RM 3 for each item).
For the ice cream zealots, there is now Kapiti ice cream from New Zealand. Pick any of the flavors and you shain’t disappoint (RM 8.90 per scoop, RM 23.90 for three scoops). We had the pleasing strawberry & cream, indulgent chocolate and sweet berries, .
Other items on Food & Desire’s menu include sandwiches, pork burgers, pork sausages, pasta, snacks, mocktails, tea and coffee.
