Huahin Thailand

Hua Hin is a lovely city by the sea in Thailand.  Long stretches of sandy beaches are perfect for bumming around.  The weather was gloomy most of the time when we were there but in a way that’s kind of good for me because there was no scorching sun!

While just wandering around on the beach, we noticed one local lady who was almost always in a constant bending position and hacking out something from the stone with repetitive clanking sounds.

She seemed really determined, dedicated and her tireless position made us really curious at what she was looking for.  A lot of people were too and almost everyone that walked past her stopped to see what she was doing.

When we got a closer look, the lady was hacking out oysters and picking them up with chopsticks.

So all that diligent hacking was for a basket of oysters!

A rare moment where she sat down instead of bending in that streinous position.

All the stones in the area were covered with oysters.

Some were empty shells yellowing away whereas in some you could still see the fresh remains of the oysters.

Is this all done by the lady alone? Just curious 🙂
