Le Mas Des Roses is a truly beautiful Mas to stay in, with characteristic rooms, friendly host (Angelika), and most important of all, the daily breakfast really kept us in good mood all day long and we wished we could have stayed longer in Le Mas Des Roses.
We took the turquoise room (75 Euros, inclusive of breakfast) – which has lovely turquoise splashes and a nice bookshelf corner. When I first entered the room, I thought there was too little elements of turquoise and the room doesn’t live up to its name. Then, as we uncovered the bedspreads, we saw the turquoise, travel-themed sheets, which I thought completes the room’s turquoise look!
The spacious bathroom is absolutely lovely too, using complementary colors of turquoise and orange, and it’s probably the first bathroom during my travel that has a homey feel and not a functional feel to it.
The breakfast spread is simple and Angelika has laid out the spread so beautifully. The bread was the best throughout my trip in France! Freshly baked by Angelika, crusty, nutty and chewy inside. The spread includes:
Every morning, besides the things that Angelika can buy readily from the market, cheese, ham, fruits, etc, she makes a little something too. The first morning, it was pudding with raisin sauce, hot right out from the oven.
The second morning, it was fresh fruit compote and boiled eggs.
A corner of the courtyard.
Our turquoise room is in the main house, while the pool is just next door in a different compound. The compound has two stone houses (bastidons) that’s also available for rent on a weekly basis. We were given the keys to the compound to use the pool and unfortunately we didn’t have time to enjoy it 🙁

We loved our stay at Les Mas Des Roses and it was a perfect base to explore the Luberon.
PS: The Mas is located in a small lane, so read the directions carefully. You can find the directions in the website below. Or, key in Fontcaudette in the GPS instead of “Hameau de Fontcaudette”. Took us a while to find the place…
